The Survival Race

Survival Race Becomes Exclusive
Obstacle Race of Arnold Sports Festival

The Survival Race partners with The Arnold Sports Festival in 2013, becoming the first obstacle race of the largest and most successful multi-sport event in the nation.

The original family-focused 5k-obstacle course, The Survival Race, aims to introduce a healthier and more active lifestyle into as many households as possible. On December 6, 2012, The Survival Race officially forged a partnership with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Arnold Sports Festival, celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2013, to present the 1st annual Arnold Sports Festival Survival Race. This partnership was announced by an industry legend and the man behind the festival, Jim Lorimer, Arnold’s long-time business partner.

The Survival Race will be held on Saturday, March 2 at the Lou Berliner Park at 325 Greenlawn Avenue, located minutes from downtown.

Survival Race Chairman, James Villepigue says, “The collaboration between the Survival Race and the Arnold Sports Festival is a wonderful opportunity to expand our unique brand of family fitness to a large audience and champion our cause to greater motivate, support and inspire one another to get fit.”

The Survival Race features a fun and adventurous lineup of obstacles placed throughout the 5K race course. The race caters to participation of the entire family; the overall goal is to get the whole family up off the couch and outside to experience fun and fitness in a unique way.

The Arnold Sports Festival is the largest multi-sport event in the nation with more than 18,000 athletes competing in more than 45 sports and events including martial arts, boxing, gymnastics, weightlifting, cross fit, amateur bodybuilding, archery, and dance sport to name a few. In addition, more than 175,000 fitness enthusiasts will attend the upcoming Arnold Sports Festival on February 28-March 3 to experience thrilling moments of sports competition and fitness entertainment.

The Survival Race is a fun and exciting event focused on getting families healthy and fit. Race registration is open and includes three-day admission to the Arnold Fitness EXPO.
