Michael Jenkins Wins the 11th Arnold Strongman Classic

Michael Jenkins of Hershey, PA won the contest over an international field to capture the 11th Annual Arnold Strongman Classic title.  Jenkins received a $50,000 check and the Louis Cyr trophy by Gerard Dente of MHP and congratulations from Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Jenkins set three world records, in the Circus Dumbbell, Timber Carry and the Austrian Oak Lift.

Finishing one point behind Jenkins in second was Derek Poundstone of Waterbury, CT.  He received $20,000 from Tim Bentley of GNC.

The order of the other finishers was:

* 3rd place: Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania received $15,000 from Rich Gaspari of Gaspari Nutrition.

* 4th place: Brian Shaw of Lupton, CO received $10,000 from Glen Witchey of Subway.

* 5th place: Michael Burke of Aurora, CO received $8,000 from Dr. Steven Hertzler of EAS.

* 6th place: Mikhail “Misha” Koklyaev of Russia received $6,000 from Eric Schwartz of Animal Universal Nutrition.

* 7th place: Laurence Shahlaei of Gloucester, England received $5,000 from Nick Dodson of Michelob ULTRA.

* 8th place: Terry Hollands of England received $3,000 from Cliff Hemmert of Chase.

* 9th place: Travis Ortmayer of Cypress, TX received $2,000 from Amanda Latona of BSN.

* 10th place:  Hafthor Bjornsson Kópavogur, Iceland received $1,000 from Chris Mackenzie of Bpi Sports. 

Events included: Shouldering Apollon’s Wheels, Circus Dumbbell, The Austrian Oak, The Deadlift and the Timber Carry.
