Rising Star Paulino Wins First Bikini International Title
India Paulino of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., became the third different champion in the three-year history of the Bikini International when she improved on a second-place finish in 2012 to claim the top in the IFBB Pro League contest on March 2 at Veterans Memorial in Columbus, Ohio.
Paulino, who bested a field of 16, joins 2012 winner Sonia Gonzales and inaugural champion Nicole Nagrani as winners of the prestigious Bikini International contest.
For the win, Paulino earned $7,000 and a Tony Nowak Originals Champions Jacket.
Nathalia Melo of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who finished fifth in 2012, improved to second-place and earned $3,000. Nagrani, of Daytona Beach, Fla., was third and earned $2,000.
Also in the top six were fourth-place Yeshaira Robles of New York, N.Y., fifth-place Jessica Paxson of Centerville, Ohio and sixth-place Jamie Baird of Orlando, Fla. Each earned $1,000.
Also competing in the 2013 Bikini International were Noy Alexander of Las Vegas, Nev.; Jennifer Andrews of Lexington, Ky.; Tiffany Boydston of Sacramento, Calif.; Abbie Burrows of Las Vegas, Nev.; Lacey Deluca Lieto of Ocala, Fla.; Tawna Eubanks of Dallas, Texas; Ashley Kaltwasser of Akron, Ohio; Lexi Kauffman of Columbus, Ohio; Marcela Tribin of Key Biscayne, Fla; and Anna Virmajoki of Helsinki, Finland.
