Arnold Track & Field Championships return for third straight year

The Midwest's best high-school track & field athletes will return to Ohio State's French Field House for the third-annual Arnold Track & Field Championships.

Nearly 1,200 athletes from 75 Ohio high school track teams competed last year in 17 different events. This year’s event will be held Saturday, March 2.

“We will showcase many of the reigning Ohio high school state champions in track and field,” Co-Chair Lori Baldwin said. “We also expect to have participants from Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan and West Virginia.”

 A $2,000 scholarship will be presented by the Columbus Rotary and the Arnold Sports Festival.  Last year, Natalie Uy from Kettering Fairmont High School in Ohio won the scholarship. She plans to compate again this year.

New this year will be an exhibition wheelchair race.  The Adaptive Sports Program of Ohio will host the race.  For more information about the ASPO visit http://adaptivesportsohio.org/.

Registration:  www.finishtiming.com. Deadline Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at 5 p.m.

The event is limited to the firrst 70 entries for shot put; 96 entries for 60m, 60mh; 40 entries for pole vault; 78 entries for all other running events. Max four (4) events per athlete.

PARKING
Free parking is available in the lots surrounding the French Field House. Overflow parking is available in the Lane Avenue Parking Garage at the corner of Lane Avenue and Tuttle Park Drive for $5.
