Active Living Festival adds Senior Olympics, Defeat Disease with Exercise programs
Learn how to improve your life and health at the Arnold Active Living Festival, part of the Arnold Sports Festival. The March 5 program will focus on ways that exercise can fight disease and maximize wellness for a lifetime.
Now in its fourth year, the Active Living Festival also features some of the Central Ohio Senior Olympics and a dance program. The Festival is geared to seniors over 50 years old but also provides support for caregivers and exercise methods to fight the effects of diseases such as Parkinson’s, arthritis, diabetes and cancer.
Experts in disease prevention will provide interactive examples and training, proven to delay the effects of disease.
The dance portion of the program includes free lessons during the day provided by Columbus area dance studios and a dance in the evening.
“Seminars and hands-on demonstrations will educate those who attend so they may retain independence and live better, more active and fun lives,” Active Living Festival director Mike Lorz said.
Tickets to the Active Living Festival are $10 a day, and also include admission to most of the Arnold Sports Festival's 44 sports and events. The Active Living Festival will be at the Regency Hotel and Greater Columbus Convention Center.
A complete listing of Active Living seminars, including continuing education opportunities, will be available soon. Sponsorship opportunities and exhibit spaces are also available for the Active Living Festival. If interested, contact Mike Lorz at 614-443-1877 or mlorz@rrcol.com
