The newly-established International Sports Hall of Fame will induct its first class at the 2012 Arnold Sports Festival.
The International Sports Hall of Fame is a 501(c) Non Profit foundation established to honor the world’s greatest athlete legends in all sports.
“This is a global organization that believes recognition of these remarkable sports people should endure and be recognized long after their careers have ended,” founder Dr. Robert Goldman said.
Inductees in the inaugural class include bodybuilding legends Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Cory Everson, mixed martial arts legend and UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, fitness pioneers Jack and Elaine LaLanne and Strongman great Mark Henry.
The induction ceremonies will be held annually every March at the Arnold Sports Festival, the world’s largest annual sports weekend, hosting 175,000 attendees and over 18,000 competing athletes.
The International Sports Hall of Fame is also a sponsor of the Arnold Sports Film Festival, one of the largest film festivals in the United States dedicated solely to sports films. The 2012 Arnold Sports Film Festival will be held March 2-4 in conjunction with the Arnold Sports Festival.
